Anyone reading this site will know of Outlaw Dave’s legendary status on Rock 101 KLOL through the 90s and 2000s until the station flipped formats. He later appeared on Rock 103.7 KIOL.

“We are always excited to give our listeners a live and local experience and we are pumped to bring Dave’s years of market radio talent to Houston’s Eagle,” Travis Moon, Director of Operations for the stations told mikemcguff.com.

Even if you are not in town to hear Houston’s Eagle, you might hear your the Texas Radio Hall of Famer inductee on a radio station near you through the United States.

Hailing from Houston, Texas, Dave spent his formative years in Spring Branch. Following his high school graduation, he served in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment along the East German border. Upon returning to his hometown, Andrews enrolled at the University of Houston, where pursued degrees in both psychology and mass communication.

His radio career commenced with an internship at 104.1 KRBE/1070 KKZR.

He went up I-45 to Dallas, where he joined ABC Radio and became part of their syndicated radio networks. However, Andrews soon realized that the national audience limited the scope of his show content.

Driven by a desire to connect more intimately with the local community, he made his way to San Antonio, where he stepped into the shoes of the legendary Joe “The Godfather” Anthony at 96 Rock KSAQ.

Eventually, Andrews found his way back to Houston, working for the radio station he grew up listening to, KLOL.

In 2007, he transitioned from music radio to talk radio at 950 KPRC,

His dedication to serving others knows no bounds. Dave has devoted numerous hours to the noble cause of The Outlaw Dave Foundation. This foundation has made a significant impact by offering support to at-risk youth, rescuing abused animals, and tirelessly advocating for the rights, benefits, and services of veterans.
