Jay Jones inducted into The Texas Radio Hall of Fame 2024
The Texas Radio Hall of Fame celebrated its 2024 induction ceremony at the Texas Broadcast Museum in Kilgore on the first weekend of November with former 101 KLOL and 740 KTRH owner and general manager Jay Jones is an inductee!
On the Friday night before the ceremony, attendees enjoyed a special screening of the 101 KLOL documentary “Runaway Radio,” followed by an engaging Q&A featuring 2024 inductee Jay Jones (former KLOL owner), members Dayna Steele and Doug Harris, and director Mike McGuff.
It was especially exciting to show “Runaway Radio” at the broadcasting museum, where some of the documentary’s scenes were filmed.
ABC7 KABC Los Angeles President and General Manager Wendy Granato and Mister McKinney’s Historic Houston were among those in the audience.
You can catch “Runaway Radio” on VOD/Tubi or DVD.
On Saturday, Steele returned to the stage to welcome Mary McCoy, recognized by Guinness World Records for her 72-year career as a female radio personality, alongside nine-year-old Mary Ella Woodstock, host of KIDZ STAR Radio on DFW’s KNON-NOW.
