Lyle Lovett Grammy Awards nomination

Lyle Lovett, a country music legend and native Houstonian by way of Klein, is nominated for his 19th Grammy Award in 2023 for his work with Asleep at the Wheel in the Best American Performance category for “There You Go Again.”

Lovett, who is featured in the upcoming 101 KLOL documentary (2023 release) talking about his favorite radio station growing up, already has four Grammy Awards under his belt.

“It’s just, to be recognized and to realize that something you did, people have heard it, is a great feeling,” Lovett told KHOU 11 anchor Ron Treviño.

Lovett is not the only Houstonian nominated. He is joined by Beyonce, Lizzo and rapper Tobe Nwigwe.

“I think Houston is a place that encourages people to follow their dreams and to follow their ideas,” Lovett added. “It’s a place of possibility.”

Speaking of channel 11, Treviño is co-workers with former KLOL talent Jennifer Reyna and Brian Shannon.
